Disciplines of the Spirit by Howard Thurman
The Guild for Spiritual Guidance warmly invites you to a free, soulful discussion of Howard Thurman’s Disciplines of the Spirit. Dr. Howard Thurman (1900-1981) is a 20th century American mystic who also was minister, educator, philosopher, poet, and a spiritual guide to the civil rights and interfaith movements. In this book, Dr. Thurman-explores five major dimensions of the spiritual life: commitment, growing in wisdom and stature, suffering, prayer, and reconciliation. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this important book.
While our quarterly Book and Film Discussions are free and open to all, we welcome your voluntary donations of any amount (suggested donation is $20) to help us at the Guild for Spiritual Guidance defray the costs of offering and hosting them.
